Landscaping in Cambridge
This client in Huntingdon wanted to free up their cluttered garden to create an open, clean, and contemporary space that they could use for entertaining and relaxing in the summer months. Although they were attached to their pergola, they agreed it was time for a garden style update and the pergola could go.
During their design consultation with Cambridge Landscaping, they told us that they had always wanted decking, so we provided them with a variety of decking options – from hardwood to composite, in a huge range of colours. They decided on a composite decking from Saige, which due to its durability, will provide a low-maintenance and hardwearing surface for years to come.
Once Cambridge Landscaping had cleared the garden, stripped away the old, worn-out grass and broken out the existing paving, we laid a geo-textile membrane to prevent weed growth and created a timber sub-frame for the decking. When the sub-frame was complete, we laid the Saige composite decking on top of it.
A raised flowerbed was constructed out of new timber railway sleepers and filled with high-grade topsoil. An open, triangular lawn was created with fresh, high-quality turf and a new softwood gate was installed at the side of the garden to replace an existing one.
