Garden Design in Shelford
This client’s garden in Shelford had become badly overgrown and they felt a little overwhelmed at the prospect of sorting it all out themselves, so Cambridge Landscaping were called in to carry out a site visit and free garden design consultation.
The client wanted to make some big changes to their garden and work it around an existing pergola. Cambridge Landscaping began by using a mini-digger to excavate a large section of the garden and then level the area around the pergola, while pushing around 20 tonnes of earth up onto one side of the garden. We built an L-shaped retaining blockwork wall and rendered it. The earth was then pushed back into the retaining wall to create an attractive raised and levelled section.
The levelled area under the around the pergola was prepped and paved with attractive grey Cornish slate. This paved area then ran from the patio under the pergola as a path round the side of the house.
The rendered retaining wall was painted a clean white and fresh, high-quality turf was laid on the raised, leveled section above the retaining wall to create a new lawn.
